1. Register now with NTSH

2. Applications open in January 2025, for an April start.

We are partnered with DfE accredited Ambition Institute to deliver the full suite of NPQs in Northamptonshire.

The NPQs focus on what educators need to know – the new and reformed NPQs focus on the persistent problems teachers and leaders face and what they need to know to get better. Rather than delve into generic leadership traits, they instead focus on what teachers and school leaders need to know to improve in their roles.

Ambition’s track record – Ambition has a strong track record of delivering personal development across schools and MATs. As of March 2024, over 29,000 teachers and leaders have chosen an Ambition NPQ. And in the last year, we worked with 46,000 teachers and leaders in England; helping them shape the futures of 3.9 million children. That’s 3.9 million children who are getting better teaching, and a better chance at success, whatever their background.

Strong impact – across our completed cohorts, over 97% of participants pass their NPQ showcasing the quality of content and support participants receive as well as the impact NPQs are having on their teaching and leadership experience.

High participant satisfaction – 91% of participants would recommend their Ambition NPQ to a colleague showing the excellence experience and impacted learning they get from their NPQ.

Align to your school’s context and improvement plans – each of the Ambition NPQs are designed to be tailored to your school’s context. This includes exemplifications used across the NPQs to show them applied in different context as well as our communities and clinics where participants can bring their own persistent problems and solve then with the support of expert facilitators and network peers.

Funding eligibility

DfE scholarship funding for spring 2025

Northamptonshire Teaching School has been awarded a limited pot of funded places on each programme for Spring 2025, after which, schools will be expected to fund places from their school budgets. Places will be awarded on a first come-first-served basis, with a limit of 1 participant per programme, per school to ensure a fair distribution.

Early applications are highly recommended to secure a space

The following criteria will apply when awarding places:

  • All eligible schools will be fully funded for NPQH, EHCO, NPQLPM and NPQSENCO
  • For the 50% of schools with the highest proportion of students who attract pupil premium funding, all NPQs will be fully funded.
  • For 16 to 19 educational settings identified as having high disadvantage, all NPQs will be fully funded.
  • For the NPQEYL, highly disadvantaged early years settings will also be eligible.
  • For pupil premium schools, take advantage of this unlimited funding by nominating teachers from across your school or trust. The learning from our NPQs is more effective when schools have more participants on them.
