Northamptonshire Schools' Conference 2024: Mental Health & Wellbeing

Following the resounding success of last year's Safeguarding Conference, Brooke Weston Trust and Northamptonshire Teaching School Hub proudly announce the eagerly anticipated Schools' Conference for 2024. This year, the conference will explore Mental Health & Wellbeing, addressing crucial issues facing our school community here in Northamptonshire.

Keynote Speaker Announcement: Dr. Pooky Knightsmith

Renowned psychologist Dr. Pooky Knightsmith has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the event. With expertise in mental health and education, Dr. Knightsmith's insights promise to enlighten and inspire attendees.

  • Venue: Brooke Weston Academy, Corby
  • Cost: Free of charge to Northamptonshire schools

Keynote & Main Stage Presentations:

The conference will kick off with Alexander de Capell Brooke of Great Oakley Estates, the main sponsor, delivering the opening address. Following this, Dr. Pooky Knightsmith will lead discussions on topics including:

  • Creating a sense of belonging for students
  • Understanding and Responding to Emotional and Behavioral Symptoms of Anxiety (EBSA)

Keynotes will also be delivered by representatives from Edurio and the Northamptonshire Office of Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner.

A series of engaging workshops will offer practical insights and strategies for supporting mental health and wellbeing in schools. Topics include:
